Where Is Home

2016

‘Where Is Home’ is a metaphor to our hopes and despairs, our victories and our failures, our pride and shame, our surrender and power, and ultimately our life and our death. This work questions how we fit into a world that feels like it's continually fighting against us. The dancers in this work are questing for places, spaces, and bodies to call home. The work uses a 5 foot pile of clothing as both a prop and a set throughout it’s entirety, with costuming constantly changing throughout the work- having the pile represent a point of action, a ritual, an opportunity, and a sanctuary. The pile is a culmination of a journey past and present that gives the audience a glimpse into the intimate minds of four dancers linked by this journey. Using playful and raucous humor in relation to sensitive and responsive composition, this work creates a home the dancers have built themselves. Come in and join us.
